LPT Chemicals and Accessories

Liquid Penetrant Testing is commonly known as LPT/PT or DPT. This is suitable for open to surface cracks for almost every product & materials regardless of their properties. It utilizes natural accumulation of fluid around a discontinuity to create a  recognizable indication of crack or other surface opening  defects. Usually, LPT materials are composed of Penetrant, Developer & Remover. Penetrant inspection depends mainly on the ability of liquid (Penetrant SWP-139) to wet the surface of the solid workpiece and flow over the surface to form a continuous uniform coating. Capillary action attracts the fluid (penetrant) to the discontinuity as compared to its surroundings. To locate the defects, developer  (SD-175) is applied to draw the penetrant out of the crack which can be seen in visible. Cleaner (SC-190) also plays most important role in pre and post- cleaning of Liquid penetrant testing.

TAM/KDS Twin Test Panel

TAM Panel

TAM Panel offers a swift and efficient approach to evaluating the ongoing functionality of liquid penetrant inspection systems. It supports various types of penetrants including fluorescent, water wash and non-water wash, hydrophilic and lipophilic, as well as visible ones.

TAM panels serve as the most practical solution for meeting the requirement outlined in MIL-STD-6866 paragraph 5.8.3 for a daily system performance check. There are two versions of the panels available: one with a chrome plated section polished to a mirror-like finish, and the other with the chrome section lightly grit blasted to dull the mirror finish. We manufacture both types: grit and polished.

Aluminium Comparator Block

Aluminium-Comparator-Blockks

The Aluminum Comparator Block is split into two sections, designed for comparing various penetrants or for comparing fresh penetrant to the one currently in use. Crafted from 2024 Aluminum, this block features a groove dividing the two sides, enabling easy side-by-side comparison of penetrants. It is intended for one-time use only

Ni-Cr Test Block

Ni-Cr Test Panel

The Ni-Cr Test Panels consist of brass plated with nickel-chrome alloy, deliberately stressed to produce linear cracks in the plating. These cracked test pieces are then divided into two identical panels, allowing for a comparison between materials in use and new, unused materials with identical flaws.

Also called as Type 1 reference blocks play a crucial role in establishing the sensitivity levels of both fluorescent and color contrast penetrant products. These blocks are crafted by slicing a single block perpendicular to the direction of the artificial defects.

Reference Block Type 2

Reference Block Type 2

Type 2 Reference Blocks are utilized for the regular evaluation of DPI system performance. These blocks consist of 5 artificial star-shaped defects, ranging from 3.0 to 5.5mm diameters, on one side. Additionally, the 4 adjacent patches on the same side feature different roughnesses of 2.5μm, 5μm, 10μm, and 15μm.
