Tube To Tube Sheet Weld Solutions

Tube To Tube Sheet Weld Solutions

Digital Radiography Solution

VX Exchanger RT is a complete system designed for radiographic testing of the tube to tube-sheet welded joints with only one-sided access from the tube-sheet side. 1500 joints per 8-hours shift (working in a 2-men team) Under . 2 m controlled area. VX Exchanger RT digital system powered by the Isee! Professional software fully replaces the classic film-based method & can be used for metallic materials up to a tube diameter of about 7 – 80 mm ID tubes. 0.1 mm defect sensitivity in steel. Immediate analysis on screen. Digital reporting and archiving.

Advantages

  • No consumables (no film purchase and preparation, no development, no chemistry necessary)
  • Faster testing: fast acquisition time per joint (<10s) and shorter total inspection time (1/10 of conventional testing)
  • Inspection results are available instantly
  • Computer-aided (supporting) evaluation
  • No isotopes storage and transportation (no hazardous material)
  • Smaller restricted access area (2×2 m² is sufficient), thus no disturbance of production processes at the manufacturing site
  • Fully digital evaluation and documentation
  • Increased sensitivity: 0.2 mm pore diameter detectable in Ti and at least 0.3 mm in low-carbon steel detectable, whereas with Ir192 smaller than 0.8 mm cannot be seen
  • Feasibility of 100% testing (minor added costs, feasible inspection time)
  • Welding process optimization, due to immediate evaluation of results on-site

VX Exchanger RT is powered by the ISee! Professional software and features, besides digital image acquisition and computer-aided control of the X-ray source, task-specific image enhancements, efficient image evaluation and data management.

The system consists of:

  • High efficiency custom-made digital detector
  • Pen anode metal-ceramic X-ray source & High-voltage generator
  • Computer with (optional) high-quality evaluation monitor
  • ISee! Professional software with add-ons for controlling the X-ray source & digital detector, image processing & evaluation, report generation, & archiving (optional)
