When it comes to material handling in mines, steel cord conveyor belts plays a vital role because of its highly wear-resistant properties and used principally for long-haul conveying, heavy loads, and physically demanding applications. They are especially suitable for high-mass or high-volume flows and for abrasive materials.
Due to its operation under heavy loads, shocks and impacts its recommended to inspect these belts on a periodic basis for a smooth and breakdown free services.
Introcon is designed for nondestructive inspection of the steel cords during the operation of the conveyor belt.
It can inspect the conveyor belts during a production run and takes a very short time.It detects broken cords and optionally accesses general corrosion of cords.
Introcon operation is based on Eddy Current Principle of Non-Destructive Testing and it can inspect conveyor belts from 600mm to 3000mm in width, a thickness of 10mm-50mm at speed of 7 m/s.
INTROCON consits of a basic unit for data collection, Scanner and a software Wintrocon. The basic unit is battery-operated and can be configured for high explosive zones.
